Fabulously Worth ItApr 16, 2010
I was one of those girls that used to straighten her hair with a $20 straightener every single morning. I had no idea what I was doing to my hair let alone its longevity.
The first clue I got was when one of those stands at the Mall of America that sells knock off straighteners lured me in. The girl told me the damage I was doing was obvious and that the only way to fix it would be to buy one of her straighteners. Obviously, I didn't, but that's when my friend mentioned GHD.
It took me a while to decide on the right model and to talk myself into the high price. I had always been used to being cheap and spending less than $30 (and even that seemed expensive). I realized, however, that if this was something I was going to use every single day it would be well worth the splurge.
I bought the "KISS" GHD model online and immediately noticed a difference the first time I used it. My hair feels and looks healthier. It's shinier, softer and I don't get split ends nearly as soon as I did was with my old straightener.
Not only is my hair obviously healthier my GHD straightener works far better AND faster than my old models ever did. It heats up in a mere 60 seconds (it beeps when it's ready) and straightens my hair so quickly I barely have to go over it a second time. With my old straighteners it could take me twice as long.
I am EXTREMELY happy with my straightener and plan to buy only GHD models from now on. For someone who straightens their hair from time to time, the price of a GHD straightener may not be worth it. However, if you straighten, curl and style your hair on a regular basis it's well worth it. The DVD mine came with had very helpful hints and showed me how to curl (it's easier than it sounds) my hair. I would definitely recommend this to anyone!
